George O'Malley (1911 - 1986) was born in Manchester, the son of Thomas William O'Malley from Westport and Mary Anne Ford from Ballina, Co Mayo. He was educated at Mount Carmel School and St Gregory's Secondary High School. A company director, he formed three companies dealing in worsted and woolen clothes for multiple clothiers. Married in 1941 to Cecilia Phillips of Manchester, he had two children - Anthony Gerard and Bernadette Anne. Elected Chieftain No 10 of the O'Malley Clan in 1962, he was a great supporter of the clan rallies for many years, his cheerful presence being greatly missed following his death in 1986. His brother John was Chieftain No 17.
