1984-85 Peter O'Malley (No 32)
Judge Peter O'Malley (1921 - 2002) from Barna, Co Galway, was educated by the Jesuits at Coláiste Iognáid, Galway, and at Clongowes Wood College, Co Kildare. He studied at University College Galway and University College Dublin and was called to the Bar in June 1944. Appointed Senior Counsel in July 1963, he was Judge Advocate General to the Defence Forces from June 1966 to December 1971. He served as a Circuit Court Judge until his retirement in 1991, holding the position of President of the Circuit Court from 1990. He was elected Chieftain No 32 of the O'Malley Clan in 1984 and held his Gathering in Renvyle House, Connemara, with Mass in Kylemore Abbey. He was the son of Michael O'Malley Chieftain No 8 and the nephew of Conor O'Malley, Chieftain No 2.
