1978-79 Thomas J O'Malley (No 26)

Thomas J O'Malley (1920 - 2000) of Lanmore, Westport, Co Mayo, was the son of Thomas J O'Malley of Lanmore and Susan McKay of Kilmeena, Westport. He was educated at the Lankill primary school and the Christian Brothers' secondary school, Westport. He became a farmer and livestock exporter in Navan. Co Meath. His interests were reading, farming and horse racing. He married Margaret and had six children Marion, Geraldine, Concepta, Deirdre, Adeline and T.J. junior.  He was a constant attender at Clan Rallies and was elected Chieftain (No 26) of the O'Malley Clan in 1978. His brother John Edward O'Malley was Chieftain No 28 of the clan.
