1971-72 Tim O'Malley (No 19)

Timothy Vincent (Tim) O'Malley was born in 1903 to Denis O'Malley and Johanna Richardson of Madaboy, Murroe, Co Limerick. Educated in Murroe and Limerick, he spent his entire career in the family wholesale tea, wine and spirit firm of P. O'Malley & Co, Round House, High St., Limerick. He specialised in whiskey blending and was responsible for the firm's signature brand of Irish whiskey - VAT 10. He married Margaret (Peg) Hourigan, also from Murroe, who ran a successful maternity home at 19, Barrington St. - the family home - for many years. They had six children - Canon Donough, John, Tim T.D., Gerard, Anne and Joseph. Tim was elected Clan Chieftain in 1971 and held his rally in Limerick in 1972.
