Governance

The O'Malley Clan Association is an unicorporated voluntary association founded in 1953. It is currently governed under a constitution adopted by the Clan at the Annual General Meeting in 2022 and amended at the AGM in 2025.

The Constitution provides for a Council of former Chieftains chaired by the Guardian Chieftain, an annually appointed Chieftain and Tanaiste, a Treasurer, Recording Secretary and a Membership Registrar. The council may co-opt other people to the committee as they see fit. The Tanaiste is elected by the members at the Annual General Meeting and succeeds as Chieftain one year later. All other officers are elected by the Council members for a term of three years, except for the Guardian Chieftain who serves for four years.
